I just finished an inspiring two-day residency at the University of Western Ontario. I had a chance to speak with the vocal majors, work with collaborative teams, coach some of the singers cast in the upcoming production of Falstaff, and do an opera aria master class. The level of preparation going into all this work, as well as the ease with which the musicians worked in each other’s presence, spoke volumes about the health of this program and the good atmosphere fostered by the faculty.
