I’m getting ready to head for Miami tomorrow: time to get my hojotoho on! In the meantime, I’ve been delving into beloved music here in Ann Arbor. Stan Olsen and I are getting a recital ready: Goethe texts set by Schubert and Wolf, and English poems set by two women of the early 20th century, Elinor Remick Warren and Madeline Dring. Beautiful stuff! Additionally, I’ve been working on Nozze with a group of UMich students. Every moment spent with that piece is another chance to be challenged by it, and to fall in love again. Perfect summer music-making, with time to explore and try and learn.
