Back to school in Ann Arbor, and there is an enormous semester ahead. I’ll be posting a lot here about my opera projects, but to start the semester off, I have the wonderful opportunity to perform with nearly all of my colleagues on the University of Michigan voice faculty. Yes, there is a huge evening of operatic arias, duets, and ensembles on the horizon – January 27, to be exact. We started rehearsing yesterday, and I am one happy pianist. My colleagues sound beautiful, the repertoire is varied and exciting, and the thought of all these people on one concert is thrilling – if also a little crazy in scheduling terms. I’m so grateful to every one of them for making this possible.
Maybe we’ll see you at Stamps Auditorium on Wednesday, January 27, at 8 pm? Prepare to have your faces rocked.
