I can finally officially announce what my family, close friends, and closest colleagues have known for some time: on January 1, 2015, I will join the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater, and Dance. I’ll be the school’s first Conductor/Coach of Opera. I’m thrilled to be able to continue sharing what I’ve learned in a university setting, and a move to this prestigious school is a dream come true. U-M is a draw all on its own, but as many of you know, we have family in the area, and this is an added gift to us. Music has taken my husband and me all over the world, and now it’s taking us home.
It’s with joy and sadness that I begin my final semester here at the Butler School of Music at UT Austin, a fine place with a stellar faculty and students that I have come to care for and enjoy deeply. I’m sorry to leave so soon, and so grateful that I have had a chance to be here. And no goodbyes yet – we have a lot of opera to put on before I leave!
Go Blue!
