The Rang Sackle

I’m settling in for a normal few weeks of teaching at UT: Italian classes, La bohème preparation, individual lessons. And also reviewing the score of Wagner’s Das Rheingold for my next project, the first installment of the Ring Cycle at the Houston Grand Opera. The company is tackling this seminal work for the first time, one opera each year for four seasons. The cast is largely American and completely exciting, and the production comes from Valencia, Spain, and the company La Fura dels Baus. Stay tuned for lots of news about water tanks, projections, and German diction. But for now, two weeks of studying under the oak trees…
